SEC basketball: Bold predictions for Kentucky, Tennessee and everyone else in 2022-23 season

The 2022-23 SEC basketball season is sure to be full of surprises. Maybe Kentucky will be the top team in the league, a traditional expectation, or perhaps another conference team will step up to claim that honor. Perhaps Auburn will reach a No. 1 national ranking as it did last season, or it could be Tennessee or Alabama or Arkansas capturing that kind of magic. Or a dark horse might emerge.

The USA TODAY Sports Network tasked its team of writers who cover the SEC to come up with one bold prediction for each team for the coming season. Here are those predictions:

Top newcomer: Brandon Miller, F, Fr.

Bold prediction: Miller, a five-star recruit and McDonald’s All-American, will win SEC player of the year. Yes, he could be that dominant. He scored 33 points and grabbed nine rebounds in Alabama’s scrimmage against TCU.
