Here are the top three stories today in Philadelphia:

  1. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg was in Philadelphia on Friday to help launch the Biden administration's infrastructure plan. Buttigieg spoke at the dilapidated Martin Luther King Jr. Bridge in Fairmount Park, where he spoke about the $26.5 billion Bridge Formula Program. The program will deliver $1.6 billion to Pennsylvania alone. (WPVI-TV)

  2. 81% of Philadelphia city workers are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The Friday deadline was extended by 10 days. Those workers who fail to comply with the mandate will be forced to go on leave for 30 days. If they are not vaccinated by the end of those 30 days, they will be fired. (CBS Philly)

  3. U.S. Customs and Border Protection is investigating a fake COVID-19 vaccination card that was intercepted at the Port of Philadelphia on Jan. 8th. During a routine check, the vaccination card was found in a birthday card, which was being shipped from Bulgaria. The card was addressed to an address in Connecticut. (CBS Philly)

From my notebook:

  • Accumulating snow and sleet is expected along and NW of I-95 Sunday evening and overnight before a change to rain, with total amounts ranging roughly 1-4 inches. The greatest threat for damaging winds remains near the coasts and coastal plain; minor to moderate coastal flooding is anticipated north of AC. (Facebook)
