CHILLICOTHE― For the second year in a row, the House of Masks will be open to the public for a special event on Oct. 8 with live music, vendors and a tour of AJ Good's private mask studio.

Last year, the Youtuber held an open house of his private studio to showcase his collection of about 3,600 masks. This year, the family-friendly event will be an event Good describes as a "haunted wonderland" and "spooky circus."

Good started his YouTube channel "The House of Masks" in 2011 and has gained a following for showing off his horror mask collection, discussing heavy metal music and going Halloween shopping.

The private studio on East Main Street was never intended to be public, he said, but rather to serve as a space to store masks and provide a place for him to record his YouTube videos. After last year's open house gained more interest than anticipated, Good decided to hold the event again, this time as a full-blown festival.

Good's goal is to rival the Chillicothe Halloween Festival with celebrity meet and greets, a costume contest, games, a pumpkin carving contest, giveaways, live haunt actors, vendors from across the country and a few surprises.

Guests include Sleazy P Martini of Gwar, Paleface & Co, Jared Smalley of American Tattoo Authority and more.

Good expects visitors from across the country to attend.

The event will be held at 51 E. Main Street. Admission is $10 and kids under the age of 12 can enter for free. The event will begin at noon and last through the night.
