After going years with no local closings, Wendy's has shut down its second Columbus location in five months.

Wendy's closed its restaurant at 666 E. Fifth Ave. in Milo Grogan. The decision comes after the closure of the Wendy's at 1724 W. Fifth Ave., near Upper Arlington, and within a year of a closure at 3747 E. Broad St. in Whitehall.

Customers noticed the Wendy's on East Fifth Avenue was closed after the windows were boarded up and Wendy's signs were taken down this week.

A spokesperson for the company said the restaurant, which was a corporate-owned store, closed for "a variety of business reasons."

The site of another former Wendy's/Tim Horton's restaurant, on Owenfield Drive in Lewis Center, is set to become a Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen.
