Second coronavirus case confirmed in US: CDC
U.S. health officials confirmed another case of the coronavirus in the country, the second in as many days.
An Illinois health official said the patient, a 60-year-old woman, was diagnosed in Chicago, and traveled from Wuhan, China. Doctors with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say the woman is hospitalized to prevent the spread of the virus and is doing well, and people she had close contact with are being monitored.
The CDC said 63 patients from 22 states are under investigation – two cases have been confirmed positive while 11 were negative.

The new type of coronavirus can be spread from human to human and has killed at least 26 people and sickened 830 in China.
The first case in the U.S. was reported Thursday in Washington state. The patient, a male U.S. resident in his 30s, has been hospitalized, officials said. He is in good condition and poses little risk to the general public, they said. The man had traveled from China to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Jan. 15 and reached out to his health care provider on Jan. 19 after he developed symptoms.
