Second Fort Benning Road shooting suspect appears in Recorder’s Court

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — The second suspect being tried in connection to a shooting at Fort Benning Road appeared in Recorder’s Court this Tuesday morning.

19-year-old Trinity Farley pleaded not guilty to two felony counts of murder and armed robbery. Farley is one of two people arrested in connection to the shooting, with a BOLO out for a third suspect.

According to police, Farley was seen on cameras meeting with other suspects before the attempt to rob 39-year-old William Brown on Jan. 8. The alleged robbery took place in Brown’s apartment.

Video appeared to show Farley fleeing from the scene after Brown was shot three times.

Brown was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional, where he died as a result of his injuries.

During an interview with police, Farley confirms that she was at the crime scene, met face-to-face with all suspects, and had a conversation at a secondary location.

Investigators later found out this second location is the home of one of Farley’s grandparents.

Judge Alonza Whitaker ruled that there was probable cause, bounding the case to the Superior Court, and she was ordered to be held without bond. A no-contact order was also in place to prevent Farley from contacting the family of the victim.
