Second Framingham Youth Police Academy graduates 28 cadets from week-long program

Framingham Police successfully wrapped up its second Youth Police Academy this week at Loring Arena, where teens entering grades 9-12 learned about community policing, discipline, criminal law and police procedures.

Mimicking the training provided at a real police academy, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day cadets got first-responder training and CPR certification, and learned about team building and drug recognition. Among the other topics covered were a firearms simulator and a K9 demonstration.

Twenty-eight cadets graduated from the 2022 academy, led by Academy Director Lt. Jorge Ruiz and Academy Coordinator Sgt. Jay Ball.
