This is the second major leak of secret documents in the space of a few days, which has caused concern in the Pentagon and confusion in the Biden administration.

Analysts believe that the leak of more than 100 confidential documents could cause significant damage to U.S. national security.

One slide, dated Feb. 23, is marked "Secret/NoForn," which means it is not intended to be shared with other countries.

In addition to Twitter and Telegram, another document appeared on 4chan, an anonymous message board. It is a map that allegedly shows the course of the fighting in the city of Bakhmut.

Former senior Pentagon official Mick Mulroy said the leak poses a serious threat to the security system and could interfere with military planning in Ukraine.

One of the officials said that the documents may not have come from the Ukrainian side, as they did not have access to specific plans that were clearly marked by the Pentagon's Joint Staff office.

A second official said that an investigation into the leak would be possible once it is determined which officials had access to them.

The New York Times also reported that the Pentagon is investigating the leak of classified documents related to U.S. and NATO plans to prepare Ukraine's defenders for a counteroffensive.

The newspaper calls it the first known Russian intelligence "breakthrough" since the start of the full-scale war that has the potential to harm the exchange of intelligence information between the United States and Ukraine.
