Second person dies from Sunday morning crash in Fairfax County

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (DC News Now) — The Fairfax County Police Department released a statement saying that a second passenger involved in a crash that happened early Sunday morning has died.

The person was identified as 63-year-old Hong Tang of Fairfax.

Police said that at about 9:42 a.m., they responded to a crash at the intersection of Braddock Road and Bradfield Drive in Annandale.

Through an investigation, officers determined that a Lexus attempted a left turn from Bradfield Drive, when it then turned in front of the driver of a BMW resulting in the crash. There were 5 people in the Lexus and 2 people in the BMW.

Annandale woman dies in hospital after crash that injured 6 others

A woman, who was traveling in the Lexus was pronounced dead at the hospital. She was identified as 72-year-old Yun Hu of Annandale.

One passenger remains hospitalized and the other 4 passengers were treated for non-life-threatening injuries and released from the hospital a short time later.

Police don’t believe speed and alcohol were a factor in the crash.
