Second teen charged in recent Wilmington murder

A pedestrian was found dead near a Wilmington intersection Wednesday evening, police said.

The Wilmington Police Department has charged a second teen in a recent murder case.

The 16-year-old girl has been charged with accessory to murder in connection to the shooting death of Adriana Hall, 34, earlier this month. A 17-year-old boy, who police say was related to the victim, was previously charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery and auto larceny.

Hall, a nurse who worked at Novant Health, was found dead Oct. 8 in her home in the 3000 block of Adirondack Way.

According to previous reports, police did a welfare check on Hall that morning because family members had not heard from her and she had not shown up for work.

According to prosecutors, there were no signs of forced entry. Later, police arrested the 17-year-old defendant after they found him driving the victim's vehicle while four passengers rode with him.

According to prosecutors, the boy had threatened the victim in the past when she had not allowed him to use her vehicle. Prosecutors said he entered the victim's house while she was sleeping, took her car keys from a bag where she was known to keep them and at some point shot the victim dead.

The names of both teens charged are not being reported because of their ages.
