For the second time this week, a person was shot and killed in Cumberland County

A fatal shooting Thursday night in the South View neighborhood in Cumberland County marks the fourth homicide investigation in the area this week and the second for the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office.

According to the Sheriff's Office, a man with gunshot wounds, identified as Duane Quales Jr., 33, of Plainfield, New Jersey, was found outside in the 5400 block of Miranda Drive around 8:30 p.m., about a mile from South View High School. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

"At this time, there appears to be no threat to the public," a news release said.
