A secret bookcase leading to the library is just one of the luxury touches available in this Brookfield mansion for sale

With custom room concepts, multiple levels and an elevator to help you get around, a $6 million home up for sale in Brookfield’s Berkshire Hills seems to have it all.

Built in 2006 on a 4-acre private lot, the 13,056-square-foot compound is equipped with seven bedrooms, 5½ baths, a movie room, golf simulator room and an exercise room.

The home also has a private guest suite, pool and six fireplaces throughout various common rooms and bedrooms.

Built by Regency Builders, a local luxury custom home builder, the house is draped with decadent details throughout, including custom staircases, wall statues and dome ceilings.

Jon Schoenheider, owner of the 50-year-old Regency Builders, said he worked closely with the original owners to perfect every last request, including a bathtub in the master suite with custom rainbow lights.

“You know, many of the ideas come from (sitting down with) a glass of wine with a couple and saying 'hey, what if we do this?' And then it’s mine and my team's job to make it happen,” said Schoenheider.

The owners of the home are a cardiologist from Syria and a pediatrician from France. This shows in the house as there are multiple studies and the master suite contains a secret library.

“The master suite is one of the best we’ve ever built,” said Schoenheider, “It has a secret bookcase that goes into a library because (they) were both doctors, and they would have to take calls throughout the day.”

Designed with family in mind, the size of the home allowed its original owners to live with their children and other family members. In fact, at the start of the Syrian refugee crisis, the couple opened their home to 36 relatives.

This was not the only time that the home was shared. Shortly after it was built, the couple, who are known for their philanthropic contributions, offered the home for a month in conjunction with Christmas Fantasy House, a charity event that benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Wisconsin.

Schoenheider said that the only reason the couple is moving on from the home is because their children have moved out, and they don’t feel that they need such a big space anymore.

“The home has a great master suite and two more bedrooms, and three full kids' bedrooms with a nook for doing homework, or a mother with a baby she could have a nursery, so this home really does deserve multiple family members living in it,” said Schoenheider.

Listed in March, Schoenheider said the house currently has an active client seeking to move their family into the home.
