Hey, Bud! What’s the best place to go near the golf tournament?

I always recommend finding Rogers Road, the hidden back way. Rogers Roundhouse, 1616 Rogers Road, has outstanding burgers, a fun patio and Curly’s Custard ice cream sandwiches.

Courtside Kitchen, 1615 Rogers Road, has good food, along with pickleball. There’s an easy back door to Pacific Table, and top-10 Instagram favorite Woodshed Smokehouse.

It’s no surprise that the busiest restaurants are B&B Butchers, Capital Grille, Don Artemio, Eddie V’s, Lonesome Dove and Reata.

Fuego Burger, 4400 Benbrook Highway, is the legendary home of a hand-packed burger with a cheese-crisp ring. It was closed a few days for a family graduation but now it’s open again.

Sunday, May 30, is the last lunch at 2735 W. Fifth St. on the west side before Dayne’s Craft Barbecue moves back to the south side at 2000 W. Berry St. Expect plenty of barbecue and Dayne’s specialty burgers at lunch Friday and Sunday, and barbecue and tacos Saturday.

Go early — it opens at 11 a.m. It’ll reopen June 17 on Berry.
