Sectional roundup: Taylor Delp leads Plymouth girls past South Bend Riley, into semifinals
The hosts had the most at Plymouth Wednesday night as the Pilgrims rolled past South Bend Riley, 79-20, in first-round Class 4A girls basketball sectional action.
Senior star Taylor Delp led Plymouth with 24 points. The Pilgrims led 18-7 after the opening period and 51-17 at halftime.

Senior Claire McDonald and sophomore Sophie Miller each added 11 points for the Pilgrims.
Kaelynn Howell scored 11 points for Riley, which finishes at 3-20. Kaitlyn Smith had four points for the Wildcats.
Plymouth (14-9) advances to play Michigan City (10-12) in the second semifinal contest Friday night. No. 1 and undefeated Washington (24-0) meets Adams (11-11) in the first semifinal matchup at 6:30 p.m. Plymouth defeated Michigan City 65-33 and Washington topped Adams 88-33 in regular-season action.
The title game is Saturday night at Plymouth at 7:30 p.m. EST.
Michigan City punched its ticket to the semifinal round Wednesday night by downing conference foe LaPorte 56-41.

Coach Mike Megyese's Wolves, who downed the Slicers 52-20 during the regular season, were led by Ramirra Anderson with 14 points. Divine Woods had 10 for City in the win.
Abby Allen led LaPorte, which finishes at 0-23, with 15 points.

1A at Culver
The Class 1A Culver Sectional turned into a long evening Wednesday. Argos outlasted the hosts 62-58 in three overtimes. Westville capped the night with a 38-29 win over South Bend Trinity. Argos had defeated Culver 29-26 and 38-33 in a pair of regular-season contests.
Argos (11-12) meets Westville (11-10) in the second semifinal at Culver Friday night. Triton (14-8) tangles with Michigan City Marquette Catholic (14-8) in the first semifinal game at 6 p.m.
The title game is Saturday night at Culver at 7 p.m.
