Security Service of Ukraine exposes five so-called "parliament members" of temporarily occupied territories in Luhansk Oblast

The Security Service of Ukraine (SSU) has exposed new organisers of so-called "referendums" in the temporarily occupied territories in Eastern Ukraine.

Details: SSU investigators have established the identities of five so-called MPs of "LPR (Luhansk People’s Republic) People's Council of the 3rd convocation" who contributed to the adoption of a "law" on a fake referendum in the occupied areas of Luhansk Oblast.

In September 2022, they initiated the vote for the referendum and then contacted Leonid Pasechnik, the "Head" of the "LPR" to sign the illegal document.

It has been found out that among those involved is a relative of so-called "Mayor" of Luhansk, who is under the sanctions of Ukraine and Western partner states for particularly serious crimes.

According to the investigation, after 2014, all five perpetrators began to cooperate with the local occupation administration of the Russian Federation.

While staying at their "positions", they contributed to the strengthening of the Kremlin regime in the oblast and supported the activities of illegal armed groups that participated in hostilities against Ukrainian troops.

After the start of the full-scale invasion, the collaborators were ordered to prepare and hold a fake plebiscite.

In addition to the adoption of illegal "acts", they took an active part in staged plots by Russian propagandists, in which they were called to "vote" for joining the Russian Federation.

They also visited "electoral districts", where they personally encouraged local residents to make their choice in favor of the aggressor country.

Representatives of pro-Putin Yedinaya Rossiya (United Russia) party and Kremlin PR technologists assisted in the organisation of the pseudo-referendum.

So far, the persons involved have been informed of the allegations of collaborative activities and encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine.

The perpetrators are hiding in the temporarily occupied territory of Luhansk Oblast.

However, the SSU has established their locations and is currently conducting systematic measures to bring the perpetrators to justice for crimes against Ukraine.
