See Arkansas baseball broadcaster Phil Elson stick to vow, eat a shoe — a cake version
Arkansas Razorbacks baseball radio broadcaster Phil Elson made a vow Monday night that he'd "eat a shoe" after the Stillwater Regional win by the Razorbacks.
Elson said on Monday's postgame radio broadcast, "I told some friends of mine earlier today that if neither team scored 10 runs in this game that I would eat my shoe."
Arkansas beat Oklahoma State 7-3 on Monday to advance to the Chapel Hill Super Regional, which starts Saturday.
On Thursday, Elson stuck to his pledge. He ate a shoe — a cake version.

Hey @RazorbackBSB!! The fine folks at Harps’ bakery saved me from eating a real shoe! This feeds an entire baseball team. Have some when you get to the airplane hanger…PLEASE. pic.twitter.com/wJNedzjIL8

Elson then shared a video of him taking a bite out of the cake. He bit into the heel of the shoe.
"This is the greatest cake I've ever seen in my life, so much that I'm not even going to eat with a fork or a spoon or a plate," Elson said in the video before eating the cake. "That is really good frosting right there. That's delicious."
