After Auburn and No. 2 Alabama traded punts for more than a quarter to open the 2021 Iron Bowl, the Tigers finally broke the ice with a 15-yard touchdown pass from T.J. Finley to Kobe Hudson.
Finley found Hudson open in the flats, and Hudson evaded a couple of Alabama defenders on his way into the end zone. The score came with 06:50 remaining in the second quarter and gave Auburn a 7-0 lead over the Crimson Tide.
The Tigers were aided on the four-play, 39-yard scoring drive by a targeting penalty on Alabama wide receiver Jameson Williams against punt returner Ja'Varrius Johnson. After scoring, Hudson broke out Williams' signature karate-themed celebration, adding even more fire to the annual rivalry.
