This is so cool.

Harkins Theatres is hosting two screenings of “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure” on Wednesday — at the Circle K in Tempe where a crucial scene of the 1989 cult classic was filmed.

Circle K is closing the store, at 1010 W. Southern Ave. in Tempe, a development for which Alex Winter, who played Bill in the film and its two sequels, had the perfect response: “All we are…” he told The Arizona Republic in a tweet.

It’s a reference to the Kansas song “Dust in the Wind," which is used in the original “Bill & Ted,” which, if you’re reading this, you know already. Fans love the film, which also stars Keanu Reeves as Ted, and quote it incessantly, still.

The first screening, at 8 p.m., sold out in minutes, a Harkins spokesman said. The second screening is scheduled for 10:45 p.m.

Alex Winter will provide a video intro to 'Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure'

If you don’t have a ticket to the film — they cost $15 and include a medium popcorn — there are still things to do there, including a live DJ, movie trivia, prizes for fans who dress like Bill and Ted and a replica of the photo booth time machine that plays such a big role in the movie.

And there will be a video introduction by Winter.

In the film and its sequels, Bill and Ted are high school friends with a band, Wyld Stallyns. They’re also terrible students, and if they don’t pass an upcoming history exam, Ted’s father will send him to military school. Which, of course, will break up the band.

That can’t happen, though, because Wyld Stallyns eventually unite the world in a utopian society. (This, truly, is what cult classics are made of.) So George Carlin visits by way of a phone booth time machine to take them back to meet historical figures to help them pass.

And where does the phone booth first arrive? At the Circle K in Tempe.

“Strange things afoot at the Circle K,” Ted says in the film.

Some fun things, too.
