SEE IT: Customer slashes NYC IHOP employee after refusing to wear mask

Michael Sheridan, New York Daily News

An enraged customer was caught on camera slashing an IHOP employee in Queens after refusing to wear a mask, police said.

Surveillance video released Wednesday shows the peeved patron arguing with an employee while sitting in the Hillside Ave. restaurant’s waiting area on Tuesday around 3 p.m.

The suspect stormed out of the pancake house near Homelawn St. in Jamaica Estates, then returned a short time later, cops said.

Video shows him grabbing what looks like a knife from a friend and waving it wildly at workers.

While trying to stab a male employee, he ended up slashing another 40-year-old female employee in the arm. She was taken to the hospital and needed seven stitches, police said.

The suspect ran off down Hillside Ave. He is still being sought.
