Eric Musselman is undefeated as the Arkansas Razorbacks men's basketball coach with his mom in the stands.

He's 1-0.

Musselman's mom, Kris, lives in San Diego, and her age and COVID-19 prevented her from making the trip to see any of his team's games prior to Thursday night's win against Gonzaga in San Francisco.

No. 4-seeded Arkansas defeated No. 1 seed Gonzaga 74-68. Arkansas advances to face Duke in the NCAA Tournament Elite Eight on Saturday.

Eric Musselman climbed into the stands, and he and his mom both wrapped their arms around each other for a long embrace.

She then patted him on the back, and he turned around with a giant smile.

After the game, Eric Musselman tweeted, "Thank you for making the trip to San Francisco @PlattKristine! Incredible moment getting to celebrate! #Family"

Arkansas improved to 28-8 overall. Gonzaga ended the season 28-4 overall.

Musselman is in his third season as the Arkansas basketball head coach. He previously took Arkansas to the NCAA Tournament in 2020-21. Arkansas ended the 2021 NCAA Tournament with an 81-72 loss to Baylor in the Elite Eight.

The Arkansas men’s basketball program made its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament during the 1940-41 season. Arkansas has reached the Final Four on six occasions. Arkansas last reached the Final Four in 1995, when it lost to UCLA in the national championship game. Arkansas won its only NCAA Tournament title in 1993-94.

The 2022 NCAA Tournament Final Four in New Orleans starts Saturday, April 2. The NCAA Tournament national championship game is scheduled to take place Monday, April 4.
