The Savannah Morning News is proud to announce the date and venue for the Coastal Empire High School Sports Awards, presented by Georgia Ports, returning as a live show again this year. It will be held on Thursday, June 1, at 7, at the Johnny Mercer Theatre. It is produced with support from Chatham Orthopaedic Associates.

Nominees in each of 23 state-sanctioned sports across the Coastal Empire area will be honored that night. Winners will be announced, in addition to Boys and Girls Athlete of the Year, Coach of the Year, Teams of the Year, and a Courage Award. Nominees for winter and spring sports will be announced in the coming months.

The Coastal Empire High School Awards show is part of the USA TODAY High School Sports Awards, the largest high school sports recognition program in the country. Last year’s show can still be viewed online at this link. This year, one school from the area will win a $1,000 donation to its school’s athletic department. More details on that are coming soon.
