Ed Orgeron is doing something he hasn't done in decades — watch a high school football game on the sidelines for fun.

The former LSU head coach was seen on the sidelines at the LHSAA Class 5A playoff game between Acadiana and Ponchatoula alongside good friend Benny Latino, a former Southeastern Louisiana baseball player.

Orgeron has recruited several football players on the field in Ponchatoula, including the Green Wave's five-star safety Jacoby Mathews and Acadiana's Laterrance Welch. Orgeron is also good friends with Ponchatoula coach Hank Tierney, who led the Green Wave to a 43-36 win over Acadiana. It was Tierney's 300th career win.
