See Fort Myers, Lee County power outage map as Hurricane Idalia impacts Florida

Power outages are expected to be reported in the Fort Myers area and Lee County as Hurricane Idalia makes its way through Florida.

Idalia is forecast to become a Category 3 hurricane before making landfall along Florida's coast Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency in 33 Florida counties, including Alachua, Bradford, Columbia, Gilchrist and Levy and urged all residents to be prepared.

A Tropical Storm warning was in effect for Lee County as of early Monday, Aug. 28.
