Retired New York Giants Hall of Fame defensive end Michael Strahan added another accolade to his impressive resume this week when he was honored with his own star on Hollywood’s prestigious Walk of Fame.

Anything is possible. Athletes — especially ones like Strahan who cross over into the entertainment field — have received the honor in the past such as Terry Bradshaw, Muhammad Ali, and Magic Johnson.

The requirement for getting your own star on the Walk is basically just being famous in any of the five fields of film, television, music, radio, and comedy/live theater.

A candidate is nominated to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Walk of Fame selection committee which selects anywhere from 20 to 24 nominees each year. Nominees must have ‘a minimum of five years’ experience in the category for which they are nominated and a history of “charitable contributions.”‘

Strahan is now one of 2,725 celebrities on the walk which was established in 1960.
