Perry High School Fall Play

7 p.m. Nov. 3-5 at Perry Performing Arts Center.

Perry High School will present “Around the World in 80 Days” at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 4 in the Perry Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $6 and can be purchased online at bit.ly/Perry80 or at the door.

ADM High School Fall Musical

Nov. 4-5 at ADM High School Auditorium.

ADM's Fall Musical Production is the Broadway classic, "Guys and Dolls." Get ready to travel back to the 1950's for the story of Nathan Detroit's neverending quest for a safe place to host the "Oldest Established Permanent Floating Crap Game in New York" and see what happens when a "gambler" of a guy falls for a "mission doll." Run time will be approximately 2.5 hours, which includes a 15-minute intermission. Performances will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4 and 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5. Bouton Breakfast

7-10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 at Bouton Community Center.

A breakfast will served on Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Bouton Community Center. The menu includes all-you-can-eat pancakes, eggs, sausage, ham, biscuits and gravy, hash browns, toast, coffee, milk and orange juice. The price is $8 for adults, $5 for children 5-12 and kids under five are free. Save the date for the next breakfast on Dec. 2.

Craft and Bake Sale

Nov. 4-5 at Panther Creek Church of the Brethren,  24529 J. Ave. Adel.

Panther Creek Church of the Brethren will host a craft and bake sale from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday Nov. 4. The craft and bake sale with a soup luncheon will be held from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5. A free-will donation will be taken. The church is located 10 miles south of Perry.

Edgewater Holiday Mart

9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 at 9225 Cascade Avenue, West Des Moines (Near Jordan Creek Mall).

Over 30 local artists and vendors, all inside. Choose your gifts from: watercolor paintings, fiber arts, jewelry, fused and stained glass, ISU and U of I carved snowmen, carved Santas, wooden toys and pens, pottery, cutting boards, kaleidoscopes, notecards, poetry prints, scarves, pillows, woven baskets, knitted socks, cheese boards, flower centerpieces, lotions, goat milk products, honey, jams and jellies, candy wreaths, gourmet nuts and popcorn, fudge and peanut brittle and baked goods.

Chicken and Noodles Meal

11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 at De Soto United Methodist Church.

Join De Soto United Methodist Church for homemade chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans, pie and a beverage. Adults are $9 and children under 10 are $5. Carryout orders are welcome.

Cocoa Coat Drive & Grinch's Workshop

2-4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 at Dallas County Fairgrounds, Adel.

Cub Scouts Pack #152 is excited to host and expand their 3rd Cocoa Coat Drive with the Grinch's Workshop. As you prepare for colder weather, bring your new or gently used winter coats, hats, gloves, snowpants, boots, etc. to donate to the 3rd Cocoa Coat Drive. The Scouts will deliver all the donated winter gear to each ADM school building to ensure all kids are kept warm this year. Local vendors will be on hand with some of their product and ready to take your order of their custom made specialties to receive just in time for Christmas. There will be crafts for the kids to make gifts for their loved ones thanks to local sponsors. And the Scouts will have a wrapping station to wrap up all the love the kids pour into each gift.

Adel Women's Club Salad Luncheon

11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6 at First Christian Church, Adel.

The Adel Women's Club will host a salad luncheon on Monday, Nov. 6. The menu will include salads, sandwiches, desserts and drinks. A $10 donation will be taken at the door.

Woodward Social Center Luncheon

11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6 at Woodward Social Center.

The Woodward Social Center will serve a luncheon on Monday, Nov. 6. The menu includes mostaccioli pasta, garlic bread, lettuce salad and dessert. A free-will offering will be taken to support the Woodward Social Center.

DCG Veterans Day Assembly

DCG High School will be hosting a Veterans Day Assembly on Thursday, Nov. 9. Scott Potter will be this year's featured speaker. Doors will open at 10:05 a.m. with the program to follow at 10:35 a.m. Please join us as we honor our local heroes.

Veterans Day at Iowa Veterans Cemetery

8 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10 at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Dr., Adel.

The Veterans Day program at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery will be held on Friday, Nov. 10. Gov. Kim Reynolds will be the honored guest, and this year’s keynote speaker will be Maj. Sean T. Quinlan, USMC (Ret). Quinlan is an Iraq War combat Veteran, former JROTC Instructor and football coach at Des Moines North High School, current football coach at Osceola High School, and motivational speaker. The traditional in-person, public ceremony, will run for about 45-60 minutes. The Iowa Veterans Cemetery Ceremony will also be broadcast virtually, state-wide and recorded on the Iowa Department of Veterans Affairs Facebook page.

Perry Veterans Day Program

10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10 at Perry Performing Arts Center.

Perry's Veterans Day events include a complimentary breakfast for veterans, active service members, National Guard and reserve personnel from 6-10 a.m. at Perry Hy-Vee. The 33rd annual Perry High School Social Studies Department Veterans Day Panel Presentation will be held from 8:45-9:45 a.m. in the Perry Performing Arts Center. The panel, moderated by Gary Overla, will feature members of the Perry Area Veterans of Foreign Wars. The annual Veterans Day program will be held at 10 a.m., followed by a luncheon in the Perry High School Gym.

Dallas County Veterans Memorial Wall Dedication

10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11 at Freedom Park near Highway 169, Minburn.

All are welcome. Please join us in a dedication to show our appreciation for all Dallas County veterans, past and present. Our gratitude for the volunteers who made this memorial wall possible will not go unnoticed. The dedication ceremony will start at 10:30 a.m. Limited seating is available and lawn chairs are welcome. A soup luncheon will follow at the school gymnasium in Minburn, 618 5th St.

Art on the Prairie Festival

Nov. 11-12 around Perry.

Art on the Prairie, an arts festival which showcases Iowa artists, musicians, and writers, returns for the 13th year on Nov. 11-12. This nonprofit art festival is a collaboration of creativity that layers art, music, and words from a foundation of small town community spirit and ingenuity. It is free to the public and facilitated by a dedicated volunteer team. Explore each of Art on the Prairie’s venues to find surprises around every corner. Cesar Muños

2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12 at Perry Performing Arts Center, 1200 18th St., Perry.

The Perry Fine Arts Series will present Cesar Muños on Sunday, Nov. 12. Cesar Muños will be playing cumbias to love songs to tropical tunes. The music is upbeat and makes you want to dance. Perry Fine Arts concerts are free (donations are accepted) and open to all. The Performing Arts Center is handicapped accessible.
