See lightning light up the sky in San Luis Obispo as thunderstorm sweeps Central Coast
Thunder shook homes and lightning lit up the sky in San Luis Obispo on Monday night as a system of thunderstorms swept across the Central Coast.
The storm arrived in the area just after 8 p.m. and with it, bolts of lightning and crashes of thunder.
The storm is expected to last overnight, with the highest likelihood of thunderstorms through Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service. The storms could have “heavy rain, small hail and dangerous cloud-to-ground lightning,” the agency said.
Brief wind gusts of up to 50 miles per hour are also possible, according to the agency.
The storm system is expected to fully dissipate by Wednesday.
