The upcoming Warner Bros. film “The Little Things” is big on star power.
Three Academy Award winners — Denzel Washington, Jared Leto and Rami Malek — star in the John Lee Hancock-helmed psychological thriller that will hit screens and HBO Max on Jan. 29.
In the film, the “Bohemian Rhapsody” star plays a clean-cut Los Angeles sheriff department sergeant who teams up with an unlikely partner, a local deputy named Joe “Deke” Deacon played by Washington, to crack a serial killer case.
Pale with long, unkempt hair, Leto looks every bit the part as their prime suspect, who is apparently harder to catch than they initially thought.
“He knew all the details, but he wasn’t within 10 miles of the killing,” a fellow cop tells Washington and Malek.
What unfolds is a cat-and-mouse game between the cops and the suspect with Los Angeles as the backdrop.
“It’s the little things that rip you apart,” Washington’s character tells his younger partner. “It’s the little things that get you caught.”
Hancock, who also wrote the film, previously oversaw “The Blind Side,” “Saving Mr. Banks” and most recently directed the Netflix period crime drama “The Highwaymen.”
The cast of “The Little Things” also includes Natalie Morales, Terry Kinney, Chris Bauer, Joris Jarsky, Isabel Arraiza, Sofia Vassileva and Michael Hyatt.
