See photos of Northern Lights in Wisconsin from social media
The Northern Lights were visible in some areas of Wisconsin Thursday night, including in Wisconsin Rapids, Spooner and Wausau. Northern Lights are a result of solar activity, so how often we see them depends on what's going on with the sun. The NOAA can make predictions about when aurora borealis can be seen, but visibility also depends on cloud cover.
If you were sleeping or did not get a chance to see them, take a look at some of photos from social media of the Northern Lights across the state.
