See which Pocono girls basketball player made the Pennsylvania All-State team

Add "All-State" to Vatijah Davis' growing resume.

Pennsylvania sports writers announced Thursday afternoon the 2022 varsity girls basketball All-State team, naming Davis as the lone Pocono representative. More than 70 reporters from around the Commonwealth took part in the voting process.

Davis averaged 23.9 points per game for Pocono Mountain West this winter, which ranks first among class 6A's 18 All-State players and 10th out of the 108 All-State players across the PIAA. A dominant scoring pushed the West junior to 915 points in her career, making Davis a near guarantee to break 1,000 points as a senior.

The 5-foot-10 power forward matched her program's scoring record with a 38-point showing against Stroudsburg on Jan. 4.

Davis also exceled beyond her smooth scoring skills, averaging 10.9 rebounds, one block, and 2.7 steals. Davis led the Panthers to an authoritative 17-4 regular season record, often overpowering opponents to the point of sitting out significant minutes toward the end of blowouts.

Just a junior, the best from Davis is yet to come.
