The first trailer for the third and final season of Ryan Murphy’s acclaimed FX drama “Pose” has been served.

The new season, which kicks off May 2, moves the action to 1994, when Pray Tell (played by Billy Porter) is reflecting on his legacy as he grapples with HIV-related health issues. Meanwhile, MJ Rodriguez’s transgender character Bianca is facing some professional challenges as she balances her work as a nurse’s aide with motherhood and a budding new relationship.

Scenes from the six-episode season are shown as a remix of Aretha Franklin’s 1994 cover of Clivillés & Cole’s dance club banger “A Deeper Love” plays in the backdrop.

Created by Steven Canals, Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy, “Pose” shines light on the underground New York City ballroom scene of the 1980s and ’90s.

Premiering in 2018, the groundbreaking drama series blazed a trail for its representation of Black and Latinx queer subjects. The gritty, hour-long drama featured the largest-ever cast of transgender actors in series regular roles, as well as the largest LGBTQ+ cast for a scripted series.

Porter, already a Grammy and Tony Award winning Broadway star, became the first openly gay Black man to win an Emmy Award for lead actor in a drama in 2019.

A true showstopper, the Pittsburgh native became a household name with his portrayal of the flamboyant designer and wicked ballroom emcee.
