There’s proof of life.
President Trump broke his Twitter silence Friday evening with a video showing him standing on his own in the White House assuring Americans he’s fighting the good fight against COVID-19. As far as he can tell, he’s doing alright.
“I want to thank everybody for the tremendous support I’m going to Walter Reade hospital,” the president said. “I think I’m doing very well, but we’re going to make sure that things work out,” he said shortly before boarding Marine One and being choppered to Bethesda, MD.
It seems as though the first lady’s status is more clear.
“The first lady is doing very well,” he said. “So thank you very much. I appreciate it. I will never forget it. Thank you.”
The president tweeted early Friday morning that he and Melania Trump had tested positive for COVID-19, which has killed more than 200,000 Americans in 2020. The president was experiencing mild symptoms early in the day, according to the White House.
