See results of 3 supervisor runoffs in Rankin, Hinds counties with 1 currently in a tie

Voters returned to the polls Tuesday for primary runoff elections in Hinds and Rankin counties.

The runoffs were to decide who would take the District 1 Board of Supervisors seat in Rankin County, as well as the District 4 and 5 Board of Supervisors seat in Hinds County.

The current results are unofficial as the runoff elections in both counties have not been certified.

Below are the unofficial results as of Wednesday:

Rankin County

Sid Scarbrough beat out Michael Windham in the District 1 runoff primary for Rankin County Board of Supervisor by just one vote. Scarbrough received 1,244 votes to Windham's 1,243 votes.

Hinds County

Wanda Evers defeated incumbent Vern Gavin by 390 votes in the Hinds County runoff for the seat of District 4 Board of Supervisor. Evers received 1,645 votes, while Gavin received 1,255 votes, according to an election summary sent to the Clarion Ledger by Zach Wallace, Hinds County's circuit clerk.

This will be Evers first term as a supervisor, replacing Gavin who has been on the board for 8 years.

In the District 5 race, Incumbent Bobby McGowan defeated Malcolm Johnson with 1,841 votes. Johnson only received 1,289 votes.

This will be McGowan's second term as supervisor for District 5.
