Hurricane Ian continues to strengthen over the northwestern Caribbean Sea. It is still forecast to remain at or near major hurricane strength as it passes near the west-central coast of Florida on Wednesday and Thursday.

Considerable flooding impacts are possible later this week along Florida's Gulf Coast.
