Power outages are expected across parts of Florida's east coast as Hurricane Nicole moves into the area. As of about 3 p.m. Thursday, Florida Power and Light reported the following number of households without electricity:
Indian River County: 5,080 or about 5% of FPL's total customer count of 99,710
St. Lucie: 2,293, or about 1% of FPL's total customer count of 174,758
Fort Pierce: 32, or less than 1% of FPUA customers
Martin: 990, or about 1% of FPL's total customer count of 94,850
Okeechobee: 30, or less than 1% of FPL's total customer count of 22,937
Brevard: 81,753, or about 25% of FPL's total customer count of 331,318
Palm Beach: 2,570, or less than 1% of FPL's total customer count of 767,390
