The mic was hot; the mustache was not.

Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence got some unsolicited facial hair advice at his press conference Friday after the Tigers’ crushing College Football Playoff semifinal loss.

“Poor Trevor needs to shave his ‘stache,” one reporter said on the conference call, forgetting to mute her microphone beforehand.

“Please mute if you’re not speaking,” came a voice, apparently from a moderator, before Lawrence addressed the mustache missive.

“Thank you,” Lawrence replied after a curious glance and a smile.

Lawrence, expected to join the Jacksonville Jaguars with the first pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, passed for 400 yards and two touchdowns in Friday’s Sugar Bowl. But Ohio State beat Clemson 49-28 behind a massive game from the presumed No. 2 pick, quarterback Justin Fields.

Lawrence, also famous for his long blond hair, can find a new barber in Jacksonville.
