Indy’s Little Mighty wasn’t triumphant in the actual Puppy Bowl shown Sunday. But he came out a winner from the experience.

The three-legged Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier mix from IndyHumane in Indianapolis scored a forever home.

That’s the point of the annual display of cuddliness shown on Animal Planet.

The three-hour television matchup spotlights animal shelters, rescues and adoptions stories from across the nation in an effort to inspire pet adoption.

Little Mighty was one of more than 100 puppies shown taking to the gridiron in Puppy Bowl Stadium in pre-taped action with play-by-play commentary, a Puppy Cheer Squad, and a half-time show featuring kittens playing with laser pointers, balls of yarn and toys.

Every puppy and kitten featured during previous Puppy Bowls, running since 2005, has been adopted.

Little Mighty was among those adopted before Sunday’s broadcast.

He was adopted by a local resident, Lexie Hall, in October, a few weeks after he went to New York to play in the Puppy Bowl.

The pup had come to HumaneIndy as a two-month-old with a severely broken leg, that was later amputated.

He healed quickly and gets around on three legs just as easily as if he had four, according to IndyHumane.

He was in the starting lineup for the Puppy Bowl XIX (that’s 19 y’all), and at one point, his Team Ruff was crushing it — leading by 31 points. Team Fluff though tied the score and forced the competition into overtime, a Puppy Bowl first.

The final score was 87-83.

Puppy Bowl XIX is streaming on Discovery+ and Animal Planet.
