Well, Ohio State did exactly what Ohio State was supposed to do against a team like Akron. After allowing the Zips to jump out to a touchdown lead, the Buckeyes rattled off 59 unanswered points and they looked dominating doing so.

It’s exactly what the Bucks needed to gain some confidence heading into Big Ten play. It was encouraging to see Ohio State take care of business against a lesser opponent.

Joel Klatt gave us his top 10 and left the Buckeyes in the same spot as last week with a No. 8 ranking. There wasn’t much change in Klatt’s top picks but did move Florida past Ohio State and Cincinnati below the Bucks.

Klatt did make an interesting comment about his rankings saying “After the top two, I would just type a number and stare at the screen… 3-10 is interchangeable.” He’s not wrong. Alabama and Georgia have looked head and shoulders above everyone else and by a wide margin.

There are no gimmes for the Buckeyes going forward. The Big Ten seems to be much improved this season. Ohio State heads to Piscataway on Saturday to face Rutgers who gave No. 19 Michigan all they could handle this past weekend.
