See who's been nominated for the newest round of Student of the Week

This week may be a packed one with Mardi Gras and Valentine's Day coming up. But that doesn't stop our newest round of Student of the Week that recognizes accomplished high schoolers in the Ozarks.

Local high school students were nominated by leaders at school districts in the area.

Voting is open until noon on Thursday, Feb. 15. Cast a vote for this round's student of the week by visiting the poll below the nominees. You can submit one vote per hour.

The winner will be announced Friday.

The Feb. 12 nominees are ...

Braden Highfill, Spokane High School: Braden's successes stretch far and wide. Outside of academics, he is a member of the archery team and a third-degree black belt in taekwondo. Inside the classroom, Braden takes great pride in academics possessing a 4.0 GPA with 100% attendance rate and has already scored a 5 on the Advanced Placement Psychology exam. When it comes to his role as a leader in the community, Braden is an active member of National Honor Society, A+ tutor and treasurer of the Spokane Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter.

Ryan Whitlock, Hillcrest High School: Described as an outstanding leader, Ryan is involved in the Hornet Battalion as the S3, commander of the drill team and Raider member. He competes in Business Ethics in the FBLA competition and is involved in the National Honor Society. Beyond these responsibilities, Ryan is also in four Advanced Placement courses and maintains a job outside of school.

Cody Robertson, Strafford High School: Maintaining excellent attendance and grades, Cody shines academically and outside of school. Enrolled in four college courses, he balances his academics while working 30 hours a week. He has a great attitude and work ethic wherever he goes, always willing to help.
