Selena Gomez to Make Cannes Film Festival Debut

Another major career milestone.

Selena Gomez is about to check a major milestone off her career bucket list. According to the Los Angeles Times, Selena will walk the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival in the South of France alongside her costars in the movie The Dead Don’t Die.

If you’re not familiar with Cannes, here’s what you need to know. The festival, which was founded in 1946, celebrates films of all kinds and will take place in Cannes, France, from May 14 to May 25. Its version of the Oscars' best picture is the Palm d’Or, a highly prestigious honor and the greatest prize awarded at the festival. Selena’s new movie The Dead Don’t Die, which also stars Bill Murray, Adam Driver, and Tilda Swinton, will make its debut at Cannes this year.

Cannes is also one of the most famous red carpets in the world, with celebrities showing off their most incredible couture looks. Kendall Jenner has done some major stunting on the carpet in the past, and we’re pretty sure Selena will be rocking something equally amazing, whether it's her gown or her beauty look. We can’t wait to see what she decides to wear; after all, Selena has great style, and we know she’s going to walk the carpet in something stunning.

Selena has had a pretty quiet 2019 so far; besides her surprise performance at Coachella alongside Cardi B, she’s kept a fairly low profile, focusing mostly on her music. In March, she wore a ponytail in the video for her song "I Can't Get Enough" with J Balvin, Benny Blanco, and Tainy, and she duetted with Julia Michaels on Julia’s song “Anxiety.” She’s also done a bit of acting, including lending her voice to The Voyage of Doctor Doolittle, which premieres in 2020. The Dead Don’t Die officially premieres in theaters on June 14, just a few weeks after it makes its debut at Cannes.
