Selena Gomez Poses in a Cute Floral Bikini and Reminds You It's Still Summer

From ELLE

It might be Labor Day weekend, which has long signaled the end of summer, but Selena Gomez is here to remind you that summer isn't over if the weather still allows for some swimwear time. Los Angeles designer La'Mariette posted this photo of Gomez in a festive, blue floral bikini and announced that the "Day Trip" bikini was the inspiration for the company's rebrand.

"This print was the catalyst for me to rebrand as La'Mariette. It feels reflective of me—playful, vivid, and alive," Theresa Marie Mingus, the company's co-founder wrote on Instagram and her website. "Creating this new collection, it was imperative that every suit and print felt like an extension of me. This print for me feels like a memory. I get that same wash of nostalgia every time I wear it, it reminds me of a day trip Selena and I took when I was considering rebranding my company- we drove down to Newport and spent all day on a boat, laughing and wandering in and out of some incredible vintage stores. One of those days that when you look back you want to relive it. When I am working on a new collection, I don't often look for inspiration on Instagram. More often I find that current of electricity from old photos of my friends' moms, or dope old 80s/90s Sports Illustrated editorials- images where women look athletic and strong and very much real."

Gomez just launched a new project of her own,Rare Beauty, her 16-piece makeup collection that launched at Sephora this week. On a Zoom call with beauty editors, she told ELLE's Chloe Hall about when she feels most beautiful:

"I feel most beautiful when I'm with the people I love," she said. "I think that's when your guard can be completely let down and it doesn't matter how I look, it's definitely how I feel around those people. I would say that's a huge thing because my friends are not really connected to this world, so they're just so excited about things. They just talk to me like it's just another day at work. I think that it just makes me feel good."
