Selena Gomez has given what will presumably be her last interview about Justin Bieber, after explaining how that chapter of her life is now closed.

The pair shared an on-again-off-again relationship for almost a decade, first being papped together in 2010. They were last linked three years ago, when they were photographed kissing in November 2017.

And yet, we all know Justin and Selena's relationship has very much been over for a while. Y'know, considering the fact he proposed to Hailey Baldwin in July 2018, and the pair tied the knot the following October, Jelena doesn't look like it's on the cards anymore.

Which might be why Selena Gomez just said she won't be singing about her ex anymore. In a new interview with Rolling Stone, the 28-year-old explained why she released tracks 'Lose You to Love Me' and 'Look at Her Now' back to back in October 2019, as if it was a final goodbye to that part of her life.

"It was my idea to release 'Lose You to Love Me' and [then] 'Look at Her Now'," Gomez said. "They [the record label] were kind of nervous about it, because they didn’t want to take away from either song. I knew from the get-go that 'Lose You to Love Me' was going to be the bigger song, because I just felt it in my heart."

She continued, "I wanted people to take away that this was a journey and that it was completely closed. I don’t want people to see me as just sad and hurt. I didn’t want that anymore. I wanted people to know that I experienced something real, and that part of me is over."

At the time, fans speculated that 'Lose You To Love Me' was definitely about Bieber, while Selena previously told Ryan Seacrest she wanted to wave goodbye to that part of her life. "These two songs were me wrapping up a chapter in a pretty little bow," she said.

"And the rest of the album is just all about where I am now and where I’m going so in my opinion, these are great songs, but I’ve saved the best for later."

Sorry Jelena fans, but it sounds like there's no more juicy lyrics coming your way.
