Provocative and self-proclaimed misogynist influencer Andrew Tate will spend at least 30 more days in a Romanian jail after he was arrested on sex trafficking and rape charges.

Prosecutors successfully argued Friday to keep Tate, 36, behind bars, Romanian news outlet Gandul reported. He was initially detained Thursday, but Romanian law only allowed cops to hold him for 24 hours prior to Friday’s hearing.

Tate’s brother, Tristan, and their two alleged Romanian accomplices will remain jailed as well, according to Gandul. Defense attorneys appealed the ruling.

Although he was arrested Thursday near Bucharest, two tweets were sent from Tate’s account on Friday. The first read, “The Matrix sent their agents.” The second was a retweet of Elon Musk, who posted a meme about the 1999 film.

Tate rose to online infamy with his relentlessly hyper-masculine posts. He’s described himself as “absolutely a sexist” and “absolutely a misogynist” while brushing shoulders with far-right internet personalities Mike Cernovich, Jack Posobiec, and Paul Joseph Watson.

On Tuesday, he provoked climate activist Greta Thunberg by boasting about his many cars and their harmful emissions.

Thunberg responded Wednesday: “Yes, please do enlighten me. email me at smalldickenergy@getalife.com.” The tweet received more than 3 million likes.

On Thursday, Romanian authorities arrested Tate, a former professional kickboxer, and accused him of running a sex trafficking ring with his brother.

Romania’s organized crime and anti-terrorism agency said the Tates would trick women into visiting their Romanian villa by pretending to fall in love with them.

When the women arrived at the compound, they were mentally and physically intimidated and forced to stay against their will, according to investigators.

While trapped in the compound, the women were forced to film porn videos, Romanian authorities said. Romanian police allege at least one victim was raped twice and six victims have been identified.

Romanian cops began investigating Tate in April, but he remained free, and brushed off the allegations as a prank.

In a video response to Thunberg’s tweet, Tate revealed he was back in Romania when pizza from a local shop was delivered to him while he was filming, leading to online speculation that the pizza boxes got him busted. A Romanian official said that theory was “funny,” but not true.
