Semi driver hospitalized after accident

Sep. 7—A two-vehicle accident near Medina caused by a possible medical condition ended with the driver of a semi being transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred Sunday, Sept. 5 at about 5:10 p.m. Traveling conditions were good at the time of the accident.

Michael Jones, 64, Hartford City, Indiana, was driving a semi westbound on Interstate 94 when is believed to suffer a medical condition causing him to lose control of the truck. The semi crossed the Median and sideswiped a 2012 KIA Sedona traveling in the eastbound lane.

The semi then continued to the south ditch.

The driver and passenger of the KIA were not injurred. Jones was transported to JRMC due to the medical condition.

The Highway Patrol was assisted by the Stutsman County Sheriff's Office and Medina Ambulance Service.
