Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) slams Gaza ceasefire protestors over lack of concern for Israeli hostages: “Bring them back.”

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) on Wednesday criticized pro-Palestinian protestors who he says are calling for a ceasefire instead of showing concern for hostages being held by Hamas.

“I don't understand why. To anyone that is protesting or demanding for a ceasefire: Let's be honest here. Why aren't you protesting to bring them all home right now? Why aren't you demanding that Hamas surrenders as well?” Fetterman said at a news conference with families of hostages.

The Pennsylvania senator described meeting with victims’ families and expressed anger for those still being held captive in Gaza.

“Bring all of these people back home now,” Fetterman said. “Stop pretending that this is some kind of equivalence here.”

Fetterman also said that while he would support a two-state solution between Israel and Palestine, it would be “meaningless” with Hamas in control.

“Hamas now disavows and rejects a two-state solution as well,” Fetterman said. “Now they are committed to the destruction of Israel again.”

He also pushed back on the notion that Israel should negotiate with Hamas, saying that he would never want to negotiate with a group “committed to my death.”
