In an appearance with other lawmakers, Sen. Lindsey Graham said that he believes the average Republican and Democrat would give high marks to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and referred to some members of Congress saying otherwise as outliers.

“They're outliers, in the largest sense possible on our side,” said Graham in a video from an interview on C-SPAN that was posted on social media.

"And there are some on the left that are outliers."

The comment comes a day after U.S. Rep. Madison Cawthorn called Zelensky a “thug,” according to a video posted by WRAL.

“Remember that Zelensky is a thug. Remember the Ukrainian government is incredibly corrupt and it is incredibly evil and it has been pushing woke ideologies,” said Cawthorn in the brief video clip.

Graham also said that what Russian President Vladimir Putin has done is "something we can't do among ourselves."

"Like 90 percent of the country is with the Ukrainians and is opposed to Putin," he said.

Last week Graham received criticism for his remarks suggesting that Russians should assassinate Putin.
