- And the VA is stepping up efforts to get all our veterans vaccinated, and it's getting help from Senator Michael Bennet. Bennet toured a temporary vaccine clinic in Aurora. Talked about his plan to speed the delivery of vaccines while putting veterans to work.

Bennet introduced a bill last year to create a Health Force. The program would train 100,000 people for jobs in public health, with veterans getting priority. And Congress did include $8 billion in the latest stimulus to fund the bill.

MICHAEL BENET: We made sure that the health force was targeted to the communities that needed it the most, and we've seen the COVID pandemic has affected different communities in a different way across the country. And the highest need areas also have the lowest number of primary care doctors and nurses. The Health Force is meant to fill up some of that gap and lift everybody up, I hope.

- And the Senator says the Health Force is modeled after the Civilian Conservation Corps, which helped put people back to work during the Great Recession. Senator Bennet also visiting the Mi Casa Resource Center in Denver today.

The Center works to help families prosper. And the Senator talked about how the expanded child tax credit and other parts of the new American Rescue Plan will benefit the community the Center serves.
