Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) called the $8 billion economic aid to Ukraine a “crap” while talking to co-host Michael Knowles in Verdict with Ted Cruz, on Wednesday.

Cruz explained his support for the $40 billion in additional aid to Ukraine citing most of the funding was necessary to help the war-torn country.

But he claimed that the $8 billion that is supposed to go to Ukraine for economic assistance would actually end up going to waste. He blamed the consequence of the bill on President Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer, and Nancy Pelosi.

“I think some of it will go to corruption. Some of that, who knows, could end up in some oligarch's yacht in the Baltic Sea,” he alleged.

Cruz said if Putin won the war and took a stronghold of Ukraine, it would be bad news for America as he will get more control of the energy sector.

“We will end up paying much more battling against Putin if he wins, than if we provide Ukraine the weapons to beat him,” Cruz said.
