Senior Bowl promo show at Hooley House set for June 6

Jun. 4—We are less than two weeks away from The News-Herald Senior Bowl, presented by Hooley House, and excitement is starting to boil over.

A promotional show, done as part of the Varsity Chalk Talk Show, will take place on June 6 at Hooley House. The Hooley House has been the presenting sponsor of the Senior Bowl since the game's inception in 2010.

Players and coaches are encouraged to come to the show, which begins at 6 p.m., and is hosted by Bill Tilton. Players and coaches will be interviewed on stage to talk about the upcoming game.

The scheduled wing-eating contest has unfortunately been canceled because of availability of that large of quantity of wings. However, a hot dog eating contest will be held in July as usual.

Additionally, players who have been selected to play in the game and have not yet logged their jersey size, number and pants size are urged to do so by midnight on June 5. Email JKampf@News-Herald.com so orders can be placed on June 6.

This year's coaches are Harvey head coach Mick Mohner and Kirtland assistant Rossi Santo. Practices will be held June 12 through June 16. Santo's team will practice from 5-7 p.m. and Mohner's from 7-9 p.m. While uniforms for the game will be provided by The News-Herald, players need to provide practice attire and pads from their respective school.

Cleveland Clinic sports medicine will provide athletic training services for the week.
