Senior-level hires and promotions for the week of April 27, 2020

THE ARTS

Helen Toomer is executive director of Artists in Residence in Everglades (AIRIE). Toomer continues to be executive director of Stoneleaf Retreat, an artists residency and connective space in the Catskill Mountains of New York focused on supporting women artists and families, which she co-founded. She was formerly director of the IFPDA Fine Art Print Fair and Collective Design Fair in New York and PULSE Contemporary Art Fair in Miami. Toomer graduated with a BFA from the Arts Institute of Bournemouth, England.

HEALTHCARE

Dr. David Seo has joined Nicklaus Children’s Health System as vice president and chief information officer. He will oversee information technology and communication services for the health system – parent organization of nonprofit Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, its network of outpatient centers, a medical group practice and other affiliated entities. Most recently, he was associate vice president of IT and chief information officer of the University of Miami Health System. Dr. Seo has a bachelor’s and a medical degree from Duke University. He completed his residency and internship in internal medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston and then pursued a fellowship in cardiology at Duke’s medical center.

At Broward Health:

Joseph Paul has been named chief financial officer of Broward Health Imperial Point. He will be responsible for the financial operations of the 200-bed acute care hospital in Fort Lauderdale, which offers medical-surgical inpatient care, behavioral health services and a variety of outpatient services. Paul, a certified chartered global management accountant, was CFO, chief staffing officer and compliance officer for Wellington Regional Medical Center in Florida. He has a bachelor’s in economics from Muhlenberg College in Pennsylvania.

Christina Grove is executive director of physician practices and urgent care at Broward Health. Grove most recently was market operations director for Tenet Physician Resources, where she provided market leadership and oversight for a multi-specialty physician group that supported five hospitals in the Palm Beach County area. She has a bachelor’s in organizational management from Palm Beach Atlantic University; a practical nursing degree from the Middlesex School of Nursing; and a master’s in healthcare administration, and an MBA, from Columbia Southern University.

Romaine Layne, who most recently was CFO at Broward Health Imperial Point, has been promoted to CFO for the Ambulatory Services Division of Broward Health. She also has been an associate chief financial officer at the healthcare system, and prior, was a controller at North Shore Medical Center. Layne has a bachelor’s in accounting and business administration from Florida International University and a master’s in accounting from Nova Southeastern University.
