Senior prank video showing damage at Coast high school surfaces on TikTok and YouTube

A video circulating on multiple social media platforms shows damage to St. Martin High School during an alleged senior prank night.

The video, first published on TikTok and then on YouTube, is going viral locally.

Many Coast residents are sharing the YouTube link on Facebook and calling for the students who participated in the prank to be held accountable.

The video shows a montage of photos and clips from inside the school. It shows cafeteria tables being pulled into hallways, a turtle placed in the bathroom and urinals and toilets being vandalized. One area was also trashed with streamers and other products.

A golf cart wrapped in plastic wrap was photographed with a sign covering it that says “SENIORS RULE.”

The video appears to have also taken clips from Snapchat, where filters on some photos tagged the location as the Gulf Hills area in Jackson County, the area where the high school is located.

Keith Lee, president of the Jackson County School Board who represents the district that includes St. Martin High, said school officials sent a note to students asking them to come forward, warning them that they would be reviewing security footage.

“Several immediately came forward” and helped clean up the school, Lee said Saturday.

Lee said while he was disappointed in the students’ actions, the video was edited in a way that made the damage look worse than it was. The students who are responsible will have to help pay for damages.

“Our kids are good kids,” Lee said, adding that senior pranks are a tradition on the Coast, and the students involved took it a little too far.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department has seen the video and said the high school has not yet filed a report.

Spokeswoman Marcia Hill said the sheriff’s department is ready to help the high school and district with whatever they might need in regards to an investigation.
